Who We Are

SEPDER’s vision is to develop a scientific, rational and practical framework for social and economic policymaking by combining theoretical knowledge with field experience, and in this way to make lasting contributions to social development.

SEPDER’s members and volunteers are, first and foremost, distinguished academics, together with representatives of the public and private sectors who play an active role in shaping social and economic policies and implementing them successfully, and experts of proven standing in their fields. In this context, the association aims to bring together under one roof the diversity of voices offered by this highly qualified team of experts from different institutions, organisations and disciplines.

Our Perspective

SEPDER aims to produce social policies that are effective at both national and global level: policies that strengthen Türkiye’s social and economic structure, increase social welfare and support disadvantaged groups.

With the motto “Strong Social Policies for Türkiye, Effective Solutions Worldwide”, our association seeks to carry out its work in line with the principles of sustainable development and social justice, drawing inspiration from Türkiye’s historical, cultural and socio-economic dynamics. Our main purpose is to develop social policies grounded in human dignity and honour, to work towards increasing Türkiye’s influence in regional and global social policy, and to build a strong model of social solidarity.

What We Aim For

SEPDER aims to become a centre that offers solutions to Türkiye’s social and economic problems, supports disadvantaged groups and addresses processes of social transformation on a scientific basis.

It also aims to strengthen Türkiye’s leadership in international social policy and, by cooperating with international organisations, to produce projects with global impact in order to develop effective social policies at regional and global level. Our goals in this direction can be listed as follows:

  1. Analysing and developing Türkiye’s social policies

  2. Producing inclusive policies for groups excluded for economic or social reasons

  3. Conducting academic and field studies that will raise our country’s level of social welfare

  4. Making social services and assistance more effective by developing cooperation with government institutions, the private sector and civil society organisations

  5. Carrying out scientific research and developing projects so that Türkiye becomes a leading actor in social policy on the world stage

  6. Contributing to sustainable development goals worldwide by establishing social policy cooperation in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East

  7. Spreading Türkiye’s experience in social policy on a global scale, carrying out joint work with international organisations and increasing Türkiye’s influence on global social policy

  8. Developing joint projects with international organisations, academic centres and policymakers in order to bring Türkiye’s social policy experience to the world, to bring good practices from around the world to our country and to further strengthen Türkiye’s role in social policymaking

What We Will Do

As a newly established organisation, SEPDER is preparing to put into practice its plans to conduct research in the field of social and economic policy, to develop applied projects and to lay the foundations for a range of academic studies.

In this context, various activities will be carried out to tackle socio-economic problems at global level, above all to address Türkiye’s socio-economic problems and to produce solutions by drawing on international experience. These activities will be introduced and put into practice step by step.
